How balneology can protect and improve health
The recent COVID-19 pandemic has posed important scientific questions, to date only partially clarified. One of the emerged is the fundamental role of the immune system in prevention, therapy and rehabilitation related to the COVID-19 infection. FEMTEC has questioned the role of balneotherapy in improving human immune function.
The Federation has therefore decided to release a document to provide reliable scientific data based on specific methodological criteria on the role of balneotherapy in human health and, more specifically, in improving the immune response.

|  Charles Davidson, V.President of Femtec has been appointed as a Professor at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia. In that honorary role he will provide lectures, co-author papers, provide strategic professional advice to the University and co-supervise a PhD candidate in the study of the social, environmental and economic impacts of hot springs on local communities. Charles Davidson is one of the leading Members of the Board of Directors of Femtec.

2nd september 2020 (inside of the VI International All Russian Congress on Balneology - See the Congress Program).
A round table was held in Moscow, promoted by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (National Rehabilitation Centre), Femtec, National Russian Spa Association, Russian Association of Thermal Spa Towns, in the framework of the VI Pan-Russian Congress on Thermalism.

 The WHO Regional Office for Europe is convening a Pan-European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development to rethink policy priorities in the light of pandemics
An important opportunity for the European balneology to highlight its role in different sectors of activity (health, economy, environment) with political strategies for development is given by the recent Commission established by WHO (Europe) and chaired by Mario Monti.
FEMTEC, as NGO in official reports, fully supports this strategy and is ready to contribute to the work of the Commission with the expertise of its Experts.
