Image of Palazzo del Capitano, the hystorical building where the Workshop of Bagno di Romagna was organized.

Its façade bears the coats of arms in stone of the Captains and Deputies who served here.

This is a reminder of the long domination of Florence in this part of Romagna from 1404 up until 1923.

The Palazzo has been at the heart of political power since the Middle Ages, when it was the residence of the Counts Guidi of Bagno.

The Florentine government later made a number of alterations to the building to adapt it to new requirements and the coats of arms of the Captains that over time administered the territory are a clear reference to Florentine rule.
