WHO's work on health innovation
in the Western Pacific Region

The support of FEMTEC for Balneology : innovation and sustainability

Innovation and sustainability of the balneology world have been the main strategic objectives of FEMTEC over the last decade.

For this FEMTEC is pleased to announce, support and disseminate this important event in which also its Experts will take part.

The health challenges of today - and tomorrow - are unprecedented in scale and complexity, and addressing them requires more innovation and greater support for WHO Member States in finding, evaluating, adapting and scaling up the most promising new public health approaches.

This is especially true now, during a time of economic and social upheaval due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the pressing challenges of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), ageing, climate change and the environment.

WHO’s vision for its work with Member States and partners in the Western Pacific, “For the Future: Towards the healthiest and safest region”, identifies innovation as one of the main new ways of working to address future health challenges.

Innovation must evolve from mere buzzword into a deliberate process of investment and institution building, from ideation to implementation, and from mere pilots to programmes that save lives.
