August 27, 2014

A one-hour flight from Beijing takes to the green valleys overlooking the Yellow Sea, rich of hyperthermal sources, in the Shandong Region, which will host the first international Centre for Research on Integrated Thermal Medicine promoted by FEMTEC, sponsored by the Chinese Holding Shengtai Group, and in co-operation with the Shandong Film and TV Group.

0005 hulei3.jpg According to plans, the 700-ha surface will host a “thermal city”, with luxury hotels, hydrotherapy and tourist centres, sport infrastructures, as well as TV and film production centres. This will be known as the Huleitang Hot Spring and Film Cultural Creative Industry Area.

Here the Centre for integrated Research and Development of Thermalism, whose foundations were laid on August 27 last by Prof. Umberto Solimene, Secretary General of FEMTEC, will be built with the purpose to provide scientific and cultural support to the rational use of thermal resources in China.

Oriental tradition, based on the broad resources of Chinese traditional medicine and supported by modern western scientific criteria according to current WHO strategies, use of mineral waters as a complement for rehabilitation and health management therapies, and training of specialized staff are the primary goals of the Centre, as noted by Prof. Umberto Solimene in his introductory remarks.

Several Chinese authorities, both from the Central Government (Ministries of Tourism and Health) and from the local one, expressed their high appreciation for the initiative, ensuring full strategic and administrative support.

The attending authorities included, among others, Mr. XU Huaguo (Regional Political Secretary), Mr. LUAN Bo (Governor of Shandong), Mr. Song Shide, (President of the Shengtai Group), and Mr. Gao Ruiju (President of Shandong Film). Mr. ZHANG YUE, Secretary General of the Chinese thermal entrepreneurs’ association, a strategic partner of FEMTEC China), was also, significantly, in attendance.
