RUDN and its Physiotherapy Department

An education and research hub active on innovative projects at an international level

The Department of Physiotherapy is headed by Professor Natalya G. Kulikova of the Medical-Technical Academy of Sciences of the RF, who has an intensive collaboration with the organizers of the All-Russian Forum “Health Resort” and was often invited to give working presentations by the President of FEMTEC, Prof Umberto Solimene.

Innovative projects of this Department include:
  • Electromyostimulation to treat patients with residual neurological symptoms after carpal tunnel surgery.
  • Pediatric paths: physiotherapy techniques for children and adolescents with dental problems.
  • Photobioacoustics: light and sound waves to treat autonomic dysfunction in young patients.
  • Stroke rehabilitation for acute cerebrovascular accidents (such as ischemic stroke) with a holistic approach from resuscitation to complex rehabilitation.
  • Oncology Care helping cancer patients cope with distal polyneuropathy and postmastectomy lymphedema during chemotherapy.
  • Laser Insights: study of the impact on endothelial dysfunction in orthognathic patients.
